I have been under the weather for the past week, getting much worse since Sunday. Went to the doctor yesterday, and it is not Covid, so that is good news.
It is hard to concentrate on my bigger pieces when I am not doing well, but creating little pieces of art is manageable — and a nice break from the intensity of commissions. Our local gallery encouraged us to make handmade greeting cards. They are blank on the inside, and can be framed after they are used as original art! These are 5 x 7, and sell for $8 a piece. They are not my finest masterpieces, but of course, that is the point. Creating inexpensive original art is a great way to plant the seeds in the community to appreciate the more traditional art pieces. For many, their first piece of original art may very well be a greeting card.
Feeling slightly better today, so hoping to finish up my Building Portrait commission this week. And more work on Frida.
Thanks for visiting … and stop by again soon to more original art in progress.
